Cognitive Journaling

The Art of Cognitive Scratching

I want to start a collaborative project of documenting writing during altered states of mind–i.e. mania or psychosis–by posting the products of such states and moods and creating a discussion around them. I want to see what insights such a process can yield. I am going to post a sample of my own manic writing and then proceed to do a short write-up on the pages themselves. I want to encourage others to do likewise to discover what we can collectively understand in exploring this prolific genre of frantic writing! Feel free–as a potential contributor–to also include other diagrams, thoughts, or drawings to start mapping out and identifying the contents of the mentally aware mind in action–i.e. our mindscapes as they present themselves otherwise/otherworldly in emergence into altered states and renewed perceptions. The sheer joy of this experiment manifests by allowing and offering these opportunities of self-refinement and intellectual and emotional growth to us as we move towards fluid control of our own selves, lives, and worldviews as each of us presses for advantage and enlightenment.
